First Paro of Bollywood Suchitra Sen passes away


Legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen popularly known as the first Paro of Bollywood passed away to her heavenly abode today. 
 
She was struggling for life since a few weeks at the high-specialty Belle Vue Clinic and was admitted in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) since quite some days due to respiratory problems. 
 
Suchitra has graced the silver screen in some highly acclaimed, award winning Bengali films besides a few Hindi blockbusters. 
 
Suchitra created a stir by featuring in the controversial Hindi film Aandhi in 1975. Suchitra played the role of Aarti Devi who had striking resemblance to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film was banned and was released only after the formation of the new government. 
 
Suchitra was the mother of Bollywood actress Moon Moon Sen and grandmother of noted actresses Riya Sen and Reema Sen.
